Unwelcome fires keeping
Cold hearts warm
In the darkness
Smoke hiding pinions
Plucked from weakened wings
Erasing memories of flight
Razing of the nations
Embers wrapped around the land
As ashes fall on
Cold skin covering
The shades of legacy
A whitewashed wasteland
The Great Turtle on it's back
Drowning in the blood
Of a thousand weeping mothers
Unfeeling masonry constructing
Monoliths of suffering
Pouring concrete blocks
Over native recollection
Shadows chanting
"you will not replace us"
As they graft thorn to bough
In fields where history lies uprooted
Hand in hand you plunge the dagger
Deeper into the soil
Speak in tongues of shallow sympathy
Brown flesh running red
You've played your part in these misdeeds
Complicit to the end
There were two spirits
Before your gospel of violence
But you sing it's praises
Over their hymns of mourning
Are their graves for the greater good?
Is this a necessary evil?
Do you see yourself as righteous
Contributing to a dying people?
Circle the sun
threescore and cut the cord
The blade rests in your palm
Has your victory been won?
You fuel the genocide
The march forward is undone
Behold the company you keep
The pale horse blotting out the sun
This is agony
We weep the sorrow's psalms
This is misery
The blade rests in your palms
